Don't Worry...Be Happy
75Anyone who has read my hubs will know that there is one message in each of them, and that is that we should not take anything for granted. I get a little impatient with people who complain about petty things. I believe that we must be thankful for seeing everyday and all the blessings that each day brings.
I had the opportunity to see a young man on the Praise the Lord program on Trinity Broadcasting Corporation and my daughter sent the following video with him to me. I would like to share it with my friends on hubpages. If you ever have the temptation to complain again just remember Nick and the way he has been such a blessing.
Count Your Blessings!
One of my favorite hymns when I was a child was Count Your Blessings. A good habit we can cultivate is to be thankful at the beginning of each day for waking up that morning. We can also practice being thankful for all the good things we encountered during the day. Basically having an attitude of gratitude also inspires us to encourage ourselves and others. King David knew how to encourage himself. No wonder he was known as a man after God's own heart.
What Are You Thinking?
The most popular book in the world states as a man thinketh in his heart so is he. What are you thinking? Are you always thinking about negative things, worrying and indulging in self pity? I am not saying that we should ignore our circumstances or pretend as if they do not exist. Oh no... that would be deception and also irresponsible. However, we can decide to not focus on the problems. We can decide to focus on the solutions instead and live above the circumstances.
When we dwell on our problems we begin to complain and even become depressed. Our words will reflect what we are thinking. We can change our circumstances by thinking positively and speaking life into our situation. Instead of thinking how sick we are we can think consistently on being healed by cultivating healthy habits. In other words we can live as if we are cured and be constantly thankful for a healthy life.
Your thoughts influence your words and your words influence your actions. Remember the little red engine that kept saying I think I can? We need to have that attitude. If we do not think like that we will not be able to achieve anything. Everything we do begins with a thought. We dwell on those thoughts until they lead to actions. Our actions eventually become habits and our habits determine our personality and our character.
You have the power to be who you want to be. It begins with a thought. Who do you think you are? Who would you like to become? What are you doing to improve yourself and to meet your goals? It is all up to you.
What are your words? When someone asks you how you are, do you list all your ailments and problems, or do you mention the great things that are happening to you in spite of the problems you face? Do the words misery loves company as well as laugh and the world laughs with you ... cry and you cry alone sound familiar?
If we have faith that our circumstances will change they will, if that faith is based on the Word of God. The Word of God can bring life in a dying situation and success where there is failure. We can meditate upon the Word to bring about a positive change in our lives.
Regardless of what you think about yourself, I have one word of advice. Do not worry about your circumstances. It does not matter what you look like, where you live or how much money you have. What matters is how you deal with everything concerning you. My advice is ....don't worry....be you... and be happy
What Are You Saying?
Finally, I would like to recommend a book written by a mentor, church brother and friend of mine. The book is so powerful that a stranger saw it in my vehicle and begged me to give it to him. I reluctantly gave it away, but I purchased another copy as soon as I could. Basically, it is a reminder that God has made many promises to us. He is not a man, so He does not lie. Whatever He promises will come to pass.
It also reminds us of the importance of thinking and saying things that will put us in a position to be blessed and to have our circumstances change miraculously. It is an ideal encouragement for anyone who has a business or has been
thinking of starting a business. I am confident that it will change
lives forever. I encourage everyone to purchase a copy. It is worth it. I know because I have been blessed by the promises outlined in the book and I meditate on them regularly. The book is written by James Standfield and it is called God You Said.

life is full of challenges and sometimes it is hard to get back up, but we must not only get up, but help others along the way to get up as well. Great hub!
Truely remarkable!!!!!! What a way to live life.Thank you so much for sharing and making my life better.
This is a great way to look at life. Loved the video and the message. We have so much to be grateful for.
Your statement is so powerful: "Your thoughts influence your words and your words influence your actions." This is so true. We become what we think about!
This is a great hub. I worry too much sometimes and it does get you down. This is very encouraging words. It has inspired me to try and quit worrying so much and to be more thankful for my blessings.
How true, how true! Great, inspiring hub! Most of the time, a simple change of attitude is all it takes to make us happy.
Thank you for this positive hub!
I cried, I cried, I cried, what a beautiful story and a stark reminder that overcoming is a choice! Our thoughts (self-talk) can many times be our worse enemy. Great stuff!
great hub. God Bless You
Great hub! It touched my heart. Thanks for sharing! =)
Very encouraging. We should live in the moment and not dwell on our problems. I have also noticed if we listen/watch /read positive things - the negative thoughts disappear.
There is no way that I'll be listening to Joel Osteen / TD Jakes / Joyce Meyer etc and still be worrying. It lightens the spirit.
Best wishes.
Thank you for your loving and caring words. Thank you for reaching out and embracing us.
create, well written. Loved the videos. I will be back to read more.
Simply Suberb
thank you... above all else I am thankful every day that my children are healthy and I am still here to watch over them.
Very nice hub. Nick Vujicic is an awesome guy--I remember him and I feel both grateful and inspired to take action. I love your words "...we can decide to focus on the solutions instead and live above the circumstances." It really is too easy to complain--there's a lot to complain about in this modern world, not to mention our personal lives--but there's such an incredible warmth you feel when you take time to realize the good in your life, and as you say, "count your blessings."
Inspiring!
Great hub! I enjoyed it.
Thank you, keep your eyes and Jesus, and helping other's will take your mind off from yourself! What we do is unto the Lord!
Createapage, this is one of the most inspiring videos i have ever seen. Your writing is also a beautiful piece. This reminds us to be thankful for what we have and not feel sorry for that which we haven't. When i am having a bad day i always thank God for i know there is always someone out there worse off than myself, Thanks for sharing.
Love and Hugs

"Privileges God has been giving us (Characteristics of privileges)"
I voted "Awesome" But you worth Great.
Good article, with provocative and profound thought invoking comments. I liked the video, although i had seen it several times, and have passed it around the internet to the point of being obnoxious about it. LOL. I mostly enjoy hubs that stand by themselves, give a lift up, a sense of amusement, and actually are the actual thoughts of the person writing them. When the quoting from the bible is interjected, it loses some of its authenticity. There really is a fruitful and enjoyable life without always preaching from a pulpit. You have a good writing style, don't be afraid to make the credit yours alone, no one will fault you for that. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. dw
After reading you comment on my hub page, i just had to return to clarify my above comments, and apologize for the implications that i am criticizing your writing style. Not intended that way. That comment about losing some authenticity should have ended with: for me. I am sure others do not have the same aversions to such quotes as i do.
Great Hub :) very nice and It's so true I always look on the bright side and If you Believe in God anything is possible.
The man without shoes thought he had it bad until he met the man without legs. Your hub is well written, and I really enjoyed reading it. You provided many challenges for us to consider. Thank you for sharing.
